DOUGLAS MURRAY CARR (published on October 06, 2009)

DOUGLAS MURRAY CARR April 10, 1950 October 1, 2009 It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear love, son, brother and Uncle Doug at the age of 59. Doug was predeceased by his father Donald in 1995. He will be sadly missed by his mother Jeanette, his loving partner of 30 years, Gail (Dru, Marc and Alex), his brothers and sister, Bob (Laura), Susan Babynchuk (Duane), Jim (Val), and his nieces and nephews, Danny, Bryan, Kayleigh, Liam, Emilie and Shaylene. He is also survived by his Aunt Sr. Helen Morin, Uncle Gordon, Uncle Lou and Auntie Verna and their families. Doug attended Ecole Précieux-Sang and Nelson MacIntyre Collegiate. He spent his early years camping in the Whiteshell until his family bought the cabin at Nutimik Lake in 1965. After that, he couldn't wait to spend every weekend out at the lake. He loved fishing and spent many nights around the campfire always having a great time. Doug had a widely diversified career and for the past 15 years, he enjoyed working for Osprey Courier Services, meeting people all over the city. Doug was a huge sports fan often enjoying his Pro-line picks and horseracing, yet always picking the underdog and getting lucky too! Doug was a kind, gentle, happy go-lucky soul always ready for any party or family gathering, often slipping out when nobody was looking, never wanting to make a fuss. Doug always showed his willingness to help no matter how difficult the situation, never asking for himself. No problem was ever too tough and as Doug would say, Whatever and would be there in a flash. He was a friend to everybody and will be dearly missed by all. A Memorial Service celebrating Doug's life will be held on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
