MARJORIE CROSS (published on April 16, 2006)

MARJORIE CROSS (nee Andrews) Peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2006 at Misericordia Place, Marjorie Cross passed away at the age of 83 years. Marjorie was born on September 28, 1922 in Minnedosa, MB. She married William Henry Cross on May 4, 1943. Together they lived in Ottawa, Regina and in 1965 they made Winnipeg their home. Marjorie worked at the Municipal Hospital as a director of volunteers, St. Boniface Hospital as director of housekeeping and Fort Garry Motel as director of housekeeping services. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, P.E.O. and I.O.D.E. Marj enjoyed life to the fullest, especially travelling, gardening, reading and spending time at the cottage. One of her favourite times was when she was with family and friends. Marj (Toots) will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Sally Brooks of Winnipeg and Judy Bleakley of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ethel Thyen (John); many nieces and nephews. Toots was predeceased by her husband Bill (Hap), son Bob, two sisters and one brother. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Many thanks to the staff of Misericordia Place especially on Robins Way for their excellent care during these past five years.
