WILFRED CHISLETT Sadly, on April 13, 2006, Wilfred George Chislett passed away suddenly at St. Boniface Hospital. Wilf was predeceased by his wife, Muriel Chislett (nee Cummings). Wilf is survived by his three children and two grandchildren: son Robert Mark Chislett and partner Karen, grandson Kevin, and grand-daughter Shawn; son Matthew Brock Chislett; daughter Nancy Ruth Chislett and husband Grant Ganczar and Wilf's close friend Jean Healey. Wilf was born on April 22, 1926 in Ottawa. He served in the RCAF in the Second World War, then returned to university and completed a degree in Journalism at Carleton University. Wilf worked for the Canadian Press in Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Regina, and then moved back to Winnipeg in 1955 to work for the Winnipeg Tribune. In 1963, Wilf started his own public relations business and served clients throughout Canada. He was also president of the Lee Pinawa Cottage Owner's Association, treasurer of the Winnipeg Press Club, public relations chairman and member of the long-range planning committee of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, board member and secretary of the John Howard Elizabeth Fry Society of Manitoba, treasurer of the 60-plus Club, and was a life-time member of the Wartime Pilot's Observers' Association. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Concordia and St. Boniface Hospitals for their truly attentive care. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 19 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephens' Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, Winnipeg.
