Walter was an easy-going quiet gentle man who will be long remembered for his story telling, especially of his adventures riding the rails during the 30's going from farm to farm working as a hired hand. Farming was his life and he remembered what the crop was like in any given year. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He bought his farm in 1939 and stayed there until 1975 when he retired to live in Winnipeg. In 1987 he returned to Oak Bluff where he resided until 2000 when he moved to the Sanford Manor where he was given excellent care by the home care workers. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with interment to follow.
