LESLIE GEORGE (LES) TEMPLEMAN Les passed away peacefully on April 18, 2006 at West Park Manor Personal Care Home. He is survived by his sister Winifred Martin (Edmonton), five nieces and two nephews. Les was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Florence Templeman, his wife Helen and sisters, Hilda and Evelyn. Les was born in Lloydminster, AB on July 12, 1915. He grew up on a farm near Blackfoot, AB. During his early 20s he moved to Mount Robson, BC where he worked as a trail guide. While there, Les taught himself to play the banjo. He and his friend Bud, entertained at dances in that area. During the Second World War, Les served in the Air Force as a pilot. After the war he moved to Winnipeg and worked for the Hudson's Bay Company until his retirement. During his retirement years, Leslie spent many happy hours golfing and curling. He and his wife, Helen, also travelled to many different parts of the world on their annual winter vacations. The family wishes to express their gratitude to West Park Manor Personal Care Home for the dedicated and compassionate care given to Les during the time he was there. A special thank you to Helen and Herb Calverly for all the kindness and support they given to Les. The memorial service will be held at West Park Manor Personal Care Home, 3199 Grant Ave., on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, please make contributions to Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6.
