The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at the Repos Jolys for their care of Eugénie these past few years. We deeply appreciate their kindness and compassion. Born and raised in St. Pierre, Jolys, MB, Eugénie spent her entire life in this community except for a brief stay on Bristol Street in Winnipeg when she first married. From a close-knit family, Eugénie was surrounded by many of her brothers and sisters who also made their home in St. Pierre. Like them she raised her family there with her husband Paul, working with him in the family business St. Pierre Motors Ltd. She faithfully served her community in many endeavours, including; the Catholic Women's League, the DeSalaberry Hospital Guild and the Emergency Measures Organization. She will be remembered for many qualities, most notably her love of life, her sense of humour, her cuisine, her sucre à la crème , her organizational skills and attention to detail, her devotion to her immediate and extended family and community and her generous spirit. Eugénie stood as our role model for how life should be lived and cherished. We will miss her. A funeral mass will be held at the Parish Church in St. Pierre, Jolys on Saturday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Guy Lavallée will be officiating. If family or friends so desire, contributions may be made to the Eugénie Côté Trust Fund at any Scotiabank for a memorial gift in her name to the Repos Jolys in St. Pierre, MB.
