JEANETTE FARDOE-PARFINUK (published on April 22, 2006)

JEANETTE FARDOE-PARFINUK October 18, 1931 - April 17, 2006 Peacefully on April 17, 2006, Jeanette began her new journey in the arms of the Lord. She is reunited with her daughters Iris and Mary-Anne; grandson Jordan; the father of her daughters, Watson; sisters, Marguerite, Muriel, Edna; brothers, Archie, Edwin; and her parents Alice and Edwin. She leaves to mourn her daughter Janet; grandsons, Jason and Jeff (Kristy); sons-in-law, Shane and Ralph; sister Ruth; brothers, Clifford, Ronnie, Roy and Robert; and nieces and nephews. Mom grew up on her parents' farm in Rosser. She also lived in Ashern and Matlock but Winnipeg was ultimately her home. In her younger years, Mom had a real zest for life. She enjoyed boating and fishing at Falcon Lake and on Lake of the Woods, but by far her most favourite activity of all was dancing - particularly to big band music. Mom also enjoyed shopping and reading various literature and the Bible. She looked forward to meeting her sister for their weekly lunch at Polo Park and loved spending time with her dog Coco who she took absolutely everywhere with her. Mom was mainly a homemaker throughout her life. She was quite the seamstress and very talented at knitting and crocheting, too, but she also liked to get out into the workforce and periodically worked as a secretary and as a school bus driver. Mom's faith in God and her deep-rooted religious belief saw her through a variety of trying times throughout and at the end of her life. Mom/Grandma, you will always be loved, and you will remain in our thoughts and in our hearts. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and doctors of Concordia Hospital involved in tending to Jeanette's care, to the Rev. Diane K. Guilford and parishioners of St. Stephen's, and to Susan of Community Homecare for her unwavering morale support. At the request of Jeanette, cremation has already occurred. A memorial service to celebrate Jeanette's life will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave. The Rev. Diane K. Guilford presiding. Honorary pallbearers: Clifford Fardoe, Ronnie Fardoe, Roy Fardoe, Robert Fardoe, Jason Kuny and Jeff Kuny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
