CHRISTINA (CHRIS) HUTCHINSON (published on April 22, 2006)

CHRISTINA (CHRIS) HUTCHINSON (nee BULLOCH) It is with great sadness and sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Christina, on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Grace Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Art; her brothers, Jim and Gary and sister Mary Brown. Left to cherish her many memories are her daughters, Geri Sinclair (Jim), Colleen Gill (Doug), and Debbie Saunders (Neil); her grandchildren, Chris (Christina), Alana (Graham) and Jeff Sinclair; Kevin (Shelley) and great-grandchildren, Jake Arthur and Jenna Colleen, Jason (Jolaine) and David Gill; Pam (John) and Michelle Saunders. She also leaves nieces and nephews. Chris worked many years for the personnel department of Eaton's. After retirement Chris and Art travelled many places and enjoyed many winters with fellow snowbirds in Mesa, AZ. She could often be found passing the time playing golf, bridge, and cards with friends and family. Our mother was energetic, fun-loving, kind and caring. Never seeming to get old, she had a relentless zest for life, positive attitude and an endless enthusiasm for the lives around her. An inspiration to all of us, she touched the hearts of everyone she met with her warmth, joyous laughter and uncanny ability to make them feel especially valued. She had an affable character, and was respected by many for her rich positive spirit, humour, and smile. No matter what challenges/obstacles she faced in life she carried herself with dignity and levity. Cancer took her away from us, but we will have you forever in our hearts and thoughts. Mom, you will always be the wind beneath our wings and we will cherish your love forever. A heartfelt gratitude to those, who through prayers and acts of kindness, helped to carry Mom and the family through this difficult period: we are eternally grateful. Our deepest appreciation is extended to Dr. Salem, for the many years of friendship and caring, the wonderful staff at Victoria Hospital, and the truly exceptional staff at the Grace Hospice, who all gave such extraordinary, compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4th Floor, 141 Bannatyne Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0R3. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949.
