She was raised on the family farm in Meadowlands, MB, then later Winnipegosis. She received her education at the country schoolhouse, in Meadowlands and also in Winnipegosis. She moved to Winnipeg to further her schooling at Success Business College. After her education she earned a job with the T.D. Bank and later with Dominion Sudak. It was at this time she met her first husband, Nick Harder. They were united in marriage in 1963. Pat decided to stay at home and raise their firstborn, Carrie and a short time later Darryl was born. Pat lived in Weston for many years Pat in her younger years spent countless hours volunteering at the Weston Community Centre where her kids were involved. In 1971 she started working for the Winnipeg School Division NO. 1 as a librarian later working in the payroll department up until her retirement in 1997. After Nick passed away, she devoted her life to raising her children and working. In the early 1990's she met her future husband, Allan Young. They married in October 1994. Pat loved retirement. She and Al spent their summers at Bel Aire where their cottage is. Pat loved to travel, going to garage sales, listening to country music, sports and we can't forget the casinos.
