ELIZABETH ANNE DOOLEY  (published on April 22, 2006)



ELIZABETH ANNE DOOLEY (OTTENBREIT) It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt on April 19, 2006. Betty joins her daughter Maureen, son Murray, grandson Mark, father Joseph, mother Christina, sisters, Katherine Stangl, Cec Ottenbreit, Ann Ferguson, Terry Markovich and Agnes Ottenbreit, brothers, Gerry and John. She leaves to cherish her memory husband Tom of 67 years, sons, Tom and children, Chris (Trish Sale) Laura and their mother Linda, Terry (Amanda) and daughter Erin, daughters, Karen Glavin (Gary) and son Matthew, Colleen and children, Tyler and Megan, son-in-law Ted Miller (Barbara) and his daughter Kelly (Dwain Mayner), daughter-in-law Elke Ruediger-Dooley and children, Michael and Angela. Betty will also be remembered by her sisters, Mary Strach, Jo Ottenbreit, Fran (Ron) Campbell and Flo Leitner, brothers-in-law, Joe Stangl and Gerry Markovich, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Tom and Betty met in high school and married in 1939. They began their family of six children in Elmwood. In 1951 they moved to Norwood where Betty became an active member of the Holy Cross CWL. After her children were grown she began a second career at the Seven Seas Gift Ship in Eaton's. Following retirement she volunteered at Tache Centre for over 10 years. Betty was a warm, friendly and caring person who made many lasting friendships throughout her life. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff and pastoral care at Tache Centre where Betty has been a resident for the past fourteen years. A special thanks to Dr. Mehta, nurse Carmel Barnes and her caring staff on 4DE. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday April 23 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 24 at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy a donation can be made to the Mark Dooley Memorial Bursary Fund, St. Paul's High School, 2200 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 0P8. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949.
