ANN BEAR (published on November 07, 2007)

ANN BEAR (nee ASHCROFT) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Bear Ashcroft, surrounded by her loving family, on November 3, 2007, at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 45 years. Ann is survived by her husband Terry Kirton, daughter Chanelle and sons, Donny and Jesse, father Gordon (Margaret), brother Gordon (Ilona), nephew Iian, step-sister Kimberly (Wally), niece Chantilly, nephew Carson, plus many other relatives in Canada and Scotland. She was predeceased by her mother Josie, sister Linda in infancy and brother Stephen. Ann was born on July 19, 1962 in Glasgow Scotland and in 1967 moved to Winnipeg with her family. She attended Ashland and Riverview schools and enjoyed ice skating among other sports. Ann was a very loving, generous person and would go to extreme lengths to help a friend. She had a good sense of humour, enjoyed a good joke and a good laugh. Ann walked a difficult path for some years, but succeeded in overcoming many challenges and for the last 10 years, enjoyed building bigger and better relationships with her family. She was a very loving mother, daughter and sister, every day telling her children that she loved them and every second day leaving on Dad's answering machine the message I love you . We would like to thank the nurses in the Grace Hospital ICU for their kind care of Ann and consideration for her family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8, at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue (Aubrey Street entrance), at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200- 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
