ERIC GOODMUNDSON (published on November 07, 2007)

ERIC GOODMUNDSON Eric passed away peacefully on November 3, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 51. He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Anna Goodmundson. He leaves to cherish his memory Cynthia, his wife of 16 years, his sister Kathy (Don) Cobb of Winnipeg, his brothers Terry (Bob) Goodmundson of Whitby, Ontario and Al (Carole) Goodmundson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, sister-in-law Karen (Ron) of Killarney, Manitoba, nieces Dana and Kristen Goodmundson and Heather Cobb, nephew Brian (Nadine) Cobb. He will also be lovingly remembered by his cousins, extended family and many friends. Eric was born in the West End of Winnipeg, attending Sargent Park School, Tec Voc and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. After working for the City of Winnipeg Assessment Department, he embarked on a career in sales. At the time of his illness he was employed with Bearing and Transmission Ltd. Eric will be remembered for his caring and generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a hand wherever it might be needed. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as with many friends he maintained contact with. His wry sense of humour will be missed. He enjoyed cooking and carried on the tradition of preparing many of the traditional Icelandic foods which he learned at his father's side. Eric loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Loni Beach. He also enjoyed fishing, carpentry and gardening. Eric loved animals and could make friends quickly with any dog he came into contact with. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at CancerCare, Health Sciences Centre, Seven Oaks Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit of St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue (Aubrey Street entrance) at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc., 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3. neil bardal inc 949-2200
