| GIOACCHINO GETTINO Peacefully on November 9, 2007, Gioacchino passed away at home with his loving family by his side at the age of 81. Gioacchino is survived by his loving wife Maria; daughters, Teresa (Salvatore), Anna Maria (Jim), Anita (Timothy); grandchildren, Joseph (Goretti), Gioacchino (Robin), Tamara (Dean), Christina, Vanessa (Adam), Jenna and Scott; many brothers and sisters-in-laws; nieces; nephews and Godchildren and his sister Maria Anna (Joseph) in Gela, Sicily. Gioacchino was born March 11, 1926 in Canicatti, Sicily and there he married Maria in 1950. They started their married life in Cheratte, Belgium, where he worked in the coalmines. They remained there for 4 years then immigrated to Canada. Dad worked many jobs and retired from Federal Pioneer Electric after 22 years, on November 30, 1988. We would like to thank the Palliative Home Care Unit. A special thank you to April for her care and gentle nature. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery.
