ELISABETH ELFENSON (published on November 29, 2007)

ELISABETH ELFENSON On Monday, November 26, 2007, after a lengthy illness, Elizabeth Elfenson passed away peacefully at Oakview Place Personal Care Home. Elisabeth will be lovingly remembered by her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Angela Elfenson of Redmond, Washington and their two children Danny and Connie; sister-in-law Nan Elfenson of Winnipeg; cousin Jean Flett of Winnipeg; as well as dear friends Elma, Noreen and Patricia. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Leonard Elfenson. Most of Elisabeth's life was spent in Winnipeg. She worked in secretarial positions, but as a singer of popular music and The Blues in her earlier years, she also lived and worked in the US for short periods of time. Elisabeth loved animals, music, old movies, news programs and dining out. She had a keen sense of humour. Always eager to learn, she took many courses and excelled in all of them. We thank Erin Stewart for her assistance in enabling Elisabeth to pursue and fulfill her never ending desire to learn. In addition to Erin, we would like to acknowledge Katherine Weiermann, Gerry and Jackie for enriching her life. Interment will take place on Saturday, December 1 at 12:30 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery, 88 Hespeler Avenue. Elisabeth's service will follow in the Chapel of Memories, in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Blvd. A heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated caregivers at Oakview Place, for their exceptional care of Elisabeth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elisabeth's memory to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
