NORMAND DONDO (published on November 29, 2007)

NORMAND DONDO Suddenly on Saturday, November 24, 2007, Mr. Normand Dondo of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 41 years. Normand was born in St. Claude, Manitoba, on January 9, 1966. He left school in grade nine to pursue various jobs such as Kimberly Clark, Nadeau Seeds, hog farming, and eventually trucking. Everyone that knew Normand thought of him as a practical joker as well as a caring, sensitive, and considerate man. He was someone who often gave souvenirs from his road trips throughout the United States and Canada even without an occasion. His favourite pastime was to care for his Red 1999 Blazer and he was also rarely seen without his camera. Chances are if you ever visited with Normand, he probably has a picture of you somewhere. Approximately 23 months ago, Normand found the love of his life Wanda Schlamb, and only six months ago he proposed to her. Wedding plans were being arranged for August 2008 and Normand was counting the months to the big day with excitement and great anticipation. We will always miss Normand and keep him in our hearts. He was a man of 1,000 words. He leaves to mourn his fiancé Wanda Schlamb, his parents André and Clothilde Dondo, his future in-laws Larry and Helen Schlamb and their family, as well as two brothers Réal of Brandon, Guy (Rose) of MacGregor, one sister Simone Dondo of Winnipeg, three nieces, one nephew, and two great-nephews. Normand was predeceased by his niece Jennifer Dondo in 1994. Funeral services will be held in the Rathwell Memorial Hall on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Martens officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date. Honorary pallbearers: Bob Magalus, Brian Nadeau, René Nadeau, Gilles Beaudin, Brian Schlamb, Marc Collet, Larry Schlamb and Uncle Wil. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Canada, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3, or to the Alzheimer Society, Box 119, 385 Mountain Ave., Winkler, Manitoba R6W 4A4. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame, Manitoba in care of arrangements. Phone 248-2201 or 1-888-400-2326. www.afh.ca
