ELISA BAYLON SARCIDA (published on December 22, 2007)

ELISA BAYLON SARCIDA (nee ISTURIS) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elisa Sarcida (nee Isturis) a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend on December 19, 2007 at the age of 58 years old. She was predeceased by her parents Bienvinedo and Enrica (nee Baylon) Isturis. Elisa will be sadly missed by her husband Gallardo (Alex) Sarcida; her children Gary and Lorraine; siblings Giovanni, Luzviminda and Milagros; her sister-in-law Flora Landreville; her nephew John Landreville; her niece Alma (Jun and Chale) Pinpin and many more relatives in the Philippines. She was born on February 27, 1949 in Dumga, Aklan, Philippines; she attended the Lyceum University of the Philippines. From 1971 to 1974 she took off on a journey to Amsterdam, Holland where she bonded with her sisters'. She immigrated to Canada, settling in Winnipeg, in the latter part of 1974 where she met her loving husband Alex and raised two wonderful children. Diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1998, she fought the cancer with courage and determination. The family wishes to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba especially her doctor Dr. James Johnston; the staff at Riverview Palliative East Wing unit; the Geinwijk Amsterdam Group; April Jordan and Kara Burnell; and everyone who visited her during her last days. A mother is someone who always has smiles to share and love to offer. Someone whose kindness has brightened our days in so many ways. Lamay will be held Wednesday, December 26 and Thursday, December 27 from 6:00 p.m. to Midnight at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Funeral mass will be held Friday, December 28, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Parish Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place.
