REINHART WALDEMAR (RON) TOBER (published on January 15, 2008)

REINHART WALDEMAR (RON) TOBER April 26, 1923 - January 12, 2008 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces that at the Personal Care Home in Ashern, Reinhart Waldermar (Ron) Tober, aged 84 years of Moosehorn, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2008. Ron was predeceased by his parents John and Adele; brothers Richard, Herb (Madge), Ewald, Edward; sisters Diane (Paul), Freda and two younger sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Ben (Helen), John (Angeline); two sisters-in-law Myrtle and Alice; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was raised in Moosehorn, MB. As a young adult he ventured out to Alaska, there he was a taxi driver for army personnel. Later he worked on the Alaska Highway. Ron came back to the Moosehorn area where he ran a sawmill and planer, then got into the gravel hauling business and was a loader operator. He also worked on heavy equipment in northern Manitoba including Churchill. Ron moved buildings for numerous years as well. Towards the end of his career he collected and hauled scrap iron to the smelter, with Jim Deighton helping him prepare many of the loads. Ron enjoyed socializing, dancing and curling (from behind the glass). He especially enjoyed casino trips to the US with his family. His pastime hobbies included coffee shop visits with his buddies, and Thursday nights around the pool table at the Handicraft Centre. He liked to be known as our local weather forecaster. Christmas will not be the same without our uncle Ron. You will always be thought of and sadly missed. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Moosehorn Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Interment to follow in the Moosehorn Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Grant Tober, Larry Tober, Gerald Tober, Rick Tober, Dawn Tober and Brent Kohut. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Kiesman, Paul Henry Kiesman, Barb and Wayne Beaudry and Herman Gall. The family would like to thank the Ashern Personal Care Home for their warm hearts and excellent care of Ron. A special thank you to Lucinda Geisler for her lighthearted sense of humor, which she shared with Ron. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Peace Lutheran Memorial Church Fund in care of Box 68, Moosehorn, MB R0C 2E0. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD.
