ERICA VOTH (published on March 18, 2008)

ERICA VOTH Peacefully, on March 15, 2008 surrounded by her family, Erica Voth (nee Schroeder) went to be with her precious Saviour. Born in Rosenthal, Russia on January 11, 1921, to Anna and Johann Schroeder she immigrated to Manitoba in 1923. She spent her childhood in Niverville, Winnipeg, and Morris. As a young teenager she moved to Winnipeg to work. There her brother John introduced her to Henry Voth. They fell in love and were married in April 1943. Together they served God in ministry in British Columbia, Ontario and Manitoba. After Henry died in 1981 she continued ministering at her church, volunteering at Mennonite Central Committee and the Manitoba Mennonite Brethren archives. She generously gave herself to her relationships with her family and her friends. She will be missed by daughters, Erica (Vic) Schmidt, Elizabeth (Herb) Lodde, Ellen (Gerald) Neufeld, and Sharon (Carl) Epp; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother John (Ruth) Schroeder and sister Agatha Martens. The family is grateful for the compassionate care given to our Mom by the staff at B4 in St. Boniface Hospital. A viewing service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street followed by the interment at Brookside Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue. Donations can be made in her memory to The Gideons International in Canada, P.O. Box 3619, 501 Imperial Road N., Guelph, ON, N1H 7A2. 2146 Main Street 339-5555
