JENNIFER ELIZABETH YANKOSKI (published on May 21, 2008)

JENNIFER ELIZABETH YANKOSKI April 17, 1984 May 16, 2008 With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce that Jennifer passed from this life suddenly on Friday, May 16, 2008. Remaining to cherish Jen's memory are her father James (Peggy); mother Michelle; sisters Melissa and Christine; nephews Kadin and Parker; Uncles/Aunts: Rick/Carol Yankoski (Rheanne, Shelby, Taylor) Ian/Eileen MacDonald, Bonny/Stan Geeroms, Janice MacDonald, Rod/Bonny MacDonald (Kyle and Sean); grandparents Helen Yankoski and Ted Yankoski, and Isabel MacDonald. Too many good friends to list here. She was predeceased by grandfather John MacDonald (1999). Jen was born and raised in Winnipeg. She graduated with passion from Oak Park High School. Jennifer was an enthusiastic member of Sparks, Brownies, Girl Guides, figure skating, gymnastics, and Highland Dancing. She was a member of the Assiniboine South Youth Choir for several years and toured with them. Jen attended Catechism and was a member of Blessed John XIII Parish. She recently studied at the University of Winnipeg. Jen valued special time with family and friends. She particularly loved her two nephews. Auntie Jen attended their activities, brought special gifts and chauffeured the boys in her little red coupe. Jen was well read, enjoyed the outdoors, loved pets and animals, played piano, guitar, and wrote music, literature and poetry. She made very many friends around the globe and exchanged unique special gifts through the mail. Jeni was a talented artist, writer, and poet. She practiced yoga. Love and loyalty were the strengths she shared. Stand firm for your beliefs. Hold your loved ones dear. Pen your words to flow like a stream. Paint your colors with grace and harmony. Play your heartfelt melody. Sing sweetly like a bird. Step light and quick between your swords. Warrior One: Stand Strong, Open your Heart, Lunge deep, Stretch, Breathe, Look up, and Reach your outstretched fingers to the Heavens. Release your Pain. There is only Love. Live with Peace and Love in our hearts. Forever. Amen. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m., in the Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church (Assiniboia Christian Centre), 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P. H., presiding.
