PATRICIA LEE SIM (published on July 12, 2008)

PATRICIA LEE SIM It is with deepest sorrow Pat's family wishes to relay her passing. After a lengthy, courageous battle Pat slipped away to her final rest on July 7th, 2008 at the age of 57. She leaves to remember and celebrate her life, her mother Mary Mcgee, husband Malcolm Sim and step-daughter Sarah, sisters Michelle Culligan and Shaun Mcgee (Francisco Rey), nieces and nephews Patrick, Kaylin, Mikaela, Keegan and Shamus, Aunt Susie Shanks and family, Uncle Jack Gordon and family, best friend Iris. Pat attended Churchill High School and went directly to the Public Service (Employment Insurance). In 1980 Pat joined the Manitoba Pool Elevators as a Human Resources Specialist where she remained until retirement. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend But still you kept on fighting Until the very end God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He put His loving arms around you, And whispered, Come to Me So when we saw you sleeping So peacefully, free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again In God's own time, we will meet again. The family would like to thank the staff of the Grace Hospital for trying to make Pat's last days more comfortable. Special thanks go to Pat's cousins Cindy, Debbie and families for all of their time and efforts; also Terry and Emily. Should friends so desire they may acknowledge Pat's life and passing by lending their support to the Winnipeg Humane Society. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 249 Arnold, Winnipeg, with ash interment at a later date. Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel 1-204-346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030
