HELEN (CRONK) STERN (published on July 12, 2008)



HELEN (CRONK) STERN July 19, 1940 - July 9, 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and NANA, Helen Stern. Mom was predeceased by her parents William and Pearl Cronk and her infant son Raymond. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bill Stern, her children, Kirk (Cynthia) Stephens, James (Melissa) Cronk, Brenda-Lee (Brad) Walker, Conrad Cronk, Frank (Shannon) Cronk, David (Renee) Cronk and stepsons Billy and Jeff Stern. Helen was proud to have greeted her 20th grandchild and cherished every one of them. She will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and special sister-in-law Delores Lavallee. Also special friends Les and Lynn and countless other friends that held a special place in her heart. Mom was born July 19, 1940 in Saskatoon and resided in Candle Lake throughout her childhood later moving to Winnipeg to raise her family. Mom's great passion was cooking for her family and anybody she could feed. Her favourite pastime was Bingo Bingo Bingo!! Mom and Bill retired in Winnipeg Beach where she became an active member of the community, and she enjoyed every minute of it. After her heart attack last July Mom stated many times she felt like the richest woman in the world due to the love of her family and felt every new day was a wonderful gift. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Monday, July 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. In the Wheeler Funeral home. Reverend Patricia Baker presiding. Thank-you to the staff at Concordia Hospital N3 West for all their care and compassion. Thank-you also to all the care providers that helped Mom through this past year.
