FLORENCE (FLISS) TURNBULL HALL Fliss passed away on July 2, 2008 in Seattle, Washington, after struggling with ill health for some time. She was predeceased by her brother Lloyd Turnbull, sister Doris Beachell and parents, Annie and Armstrong Turnbull. She is survived by her husband Nathan Hall and his children Pamella and Dennis and their families and many nieces and nephews. Fliss was born in Rathwell, Manitoba in 1922, grew up in Rosser, Manitoba, pursued her education at the University of Manitoba, University of Minnesota and University of California, Berkeley. She taught Family and Consumer Economics at the University of Washington for 28 years. She also served as an expert in Family Economics in courts of law in the United States and Canada. Fliss returned to Rosser every summer for many years and was a favourite aunt of the Turnbull and Beachell families. Fliss, in her letter of Last Instruction, stated that she did not desire formal services, but if somebody wanted to, they could have a party. She will be lovingly and fondly remembered by family and friends in the United States and here in Canada. |
