EDMUND MCGLENEN (published on July 12, 2008)

EDMUND MCGLENEN It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edmund McGlenen. He died peacefully at Deer Lodge Care Centre on July 10, 2008. His memory will be cherished by his wife Olive, brother Tom (Joan), sons Craig (Sandra) Stephen (Marina), grandchildren Fraser, Emily, Nicole and Katie and many nieces and nephews. Ed was born on October 29, 1921 in Nanaimo, BC. He attended high school in Nanaimo and Teachers College in Victoria. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. In 1946 Ed married Olive Giles. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2006. Ed's career was spent teaching with the Winnipeg School Division and the University of Manitoba. He completed his Masters of Education. Ed's true passion was music, from singing to piano to band and choir. He was an avid sports enthusiast both participating and watching a variety of sports. He was involved in many aspects of the community and always enjoyed talking to everyone he met. He took delight in his children and grand-children and enjoyed all of their activities. According to Edmund's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. The family wishes to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre Tower 4 for their great care of Edmund. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
