THELMA VIOLET MICHALECKI Suddenly, on July 12, 2008, Thelma Michalecki, nee Burge, dearly beloved wife of Michael, passed peacefully at the Grace Hospital with family at her side. Thelma is also survived by her sister Eileen Dones (Jack) of British Columbia, niece Maureen Dones of British Columbia, sister-in-law Bernice Mandzik (Mike), niece Judy Worthington (Ron) and family, and nephews John Kruch (Joan) of Edmonton, and Mark (Pina) Mandzik and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Bertha Burge and brother Allen. Thelma was born in Winnipeg on November 21, 1919. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Woolworth's. Thelma and Mike were married on September 18, 1954 and were totally devoted to each other. Thelma looked after the household, cooking, baking, knitting and sewing. They had a long and happy marriage. They loved to travel and spent their holidays motoring throughout Canada and the USA. They also enjoyed many summers camping in Minnesota. In later years they enjoyed traveling by bus. Thelma found pleasure in playing the organ, and in nature. She had a love of the beauty of flowers. After suffering a stroke, Thelma made a valiant effort to get back to normal and Mike was there caring for her and looking after her. Her passing leaves a deep void in his life. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn.
