EDDIE WILLARD MICHAEL DROHOMERESKI (published on August 23, 2008)

EDDIE WILLARD MICHAEL DROHOMERESKI Peacefully, on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, Ed passed into eternal rest. He was born on the homestead farm of Willard M. Drohomereski on Wednesday, November 28, 1934, in the Pleasant Home area near Teulon, Manitoba. He attended country schools at Plum Ridge and later at Stacpoole, then continued to work on the family farm while working at the Gimli Air Force Base. Later, Ed moved to Winnipeg and started employment at C.P. Rail as a welder. In 1956 he married Nellie Thomas. They had three children Mark, Wendy, and Dean. The serious illness and passing of his father caused Ed to move back to the family farm for a few years until it was sold in 1962. When he moved back to Winnipeg, Ed was employed at the Municipality of Fort Garry where he certified as a journeyman mechanic. He repaired everything from police cruiser cars to heavy equipment. There wasn't much he couldn't fix. In the early 1960s, Ed started doing small construction jobs in the evenings and on weekends, then started his own business DO-MORE Construction. He first built houses and commercial building and then went into road construction and finally began a demolition and salvage operation. Ed remarried in 1969 to Frances Elizabeth Greschuk. In his later years, he enjoyed meeting the boys for coffee and a bite to eat. All the regulars will miss him at Rosco's, The Sun Valley, Windows, and Thunderbird Restaurants. Eddie was predeceased by his father Willard in 1959, mother Marie (nee Chorny) in 1995, brother Alvin in 1997, and sister-in-law Anne in 1998. He is survived by son Darryl (Toni) of Winnipeg, brother Albert (Janet) of Winnipeg, nephews Todd and Allan, nieces Shelly, Debbie and Kim, aunts Jessie and Shirley, and many cousins. Prayers held on Monday, August 25, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 26, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at the Rockwood Centennial Centre in Teulon. Interment to follow at Windsor Cemetery. Rev. Father P. Chorney officiating. If friends wish, they can make donations in Ed's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Wish Society. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
