GERALD ANDREW PAUL SALO (published on August 23, 2008)
GERALD ANDREW PAUL SALO April 18, 1958 - August 14, 2008 We are all saddened to announce the death of Gerry, at Ojibway Park, ON, a place he considered a peaceful haven. He volunteered and made many friends there. Gerry will be greatly missed by his loving wife and soul-mate Irene, children Lyle and Nicole Salo, Vance Marriner and Chantell and granddaughter Brooklyn Marriner (Gerry's Pookey ); his parents, Laure and Bill Salo; his siblings, Murray (Wendy), Donna (Wayne Campbell), Tim (Darcy), Greg (Kathleen), Allen; his many nieces, nephews and cousins; godparents Jeanne and Ernie Twa and extended family, friends and co-workers. Gerry spent most of his working life at CNR. He was a hard worker, labouring with integrity and a deep sense of justice. He was interested in how everything worked, and was very creative, finding innovative ways to do and fix almost anything. He had a tender, vulnerable heart and we take comfort in knowing his unique spirit continues to live on in the company of his beloved Nana and Poppa in heaven. Heartfelt thanks to the Emergency staff at Ojibway Park and Sioux Lookout for their help. A Prayer Service will be held at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road on Monday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. |
