| VERNA STOROZUK On Sunday, August 24, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer Verna passed away in her 61st year at her summer home in Marchand, MB with her loving husband Boris at her side. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Boris of 44 years; son Darren; daughter in law Cindy; grandchildren Alex and Brooklyn, whom she loved more than life itself. Also she leaves to mourn her siblings: Ken Olson (Marg), Carolyn Woodall (Ron), Judy Hildahl (Ken), Nancy Desfosses (Norman), and Brian; mother-in-law Alice; sisters and brothers-in-law, Morris (Phillis), Irene (Alec), Joyce, Lawrence, Joan (Peter); numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; aunts Elinor Moen, and Clara Bracken. Verna had many friends, including her co-workers, whom meant so much to her. Verna was predeceased by her parents Reidar and Margit Olson; father in law Alex; sisters in law Alice Olson and Shirley Gerardy; brothers in law Julius Gerardy, Bohdan Swidersky and niece Amanda Gerardy. Verna's career spanned 42 years with Manitoba Health Services, which was ended due to health reasons. Pallbearers will be her nephews Robert, Jeffrey, Murray, Jean, and family friends Tracy and Kelson. Services in her memory will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support cancer patient comfort during treatment in Verna's memory to GD6 Renovations, in care of Health Sciences Centre Foundation, MS107, 820 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1R9.
