WILLIAM (Bill) FRANK SOKOLOSKI March 13, 1916 - August 28, 2008 Peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Grandpa Bill passed away at the Pine Falls Hospital. Bill was predeceased by his wife Margery (Mardie), sisters Mary, Vicky and Bernice and by brother Ollie. Leaving to mourn is a sister Rose and brother George, son Gordon, grandsons Brett, Cam (Alice), Trevor (Claire), great-grandchildren Scott, Daniel, Kyle, Karlee and Kassie. Bill was a longtime serving Odd Fellow, 58 years in total. As a young man Bill started working for the Charter Hall in Pine Falls peeling ties. Prior to the War Bill was employed in the Paper Mill. During the War Bill worked for the Bertram Foundry in Hamilton, Ontario. Following the War Bill returned to Pine Falls and the Paper Mill where he retired as Head Clothing Man in the summer of 1979. Grandpa Bill enjoyed many years at the cabin as well, hunting with his son, grandsons and many friends. Grandpa Bill found great pleasure in challenging anyone to a game of crib. Grandpa's favorite saying was keep smiling and he was to the end. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Charitable Foundation or to the Heart Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, Manitoba with Fr. James Gray officiating.
