PATRICIA RUTH (MACCHARLES) (BOOTH) BERGH March 25, 1925 August 26, 2008 Peacefully with her family at her favourite place, West Hawk Lake. The eldest daughter of Dr. Malcolm and Jenny MacCharles, Pat attended Tuxedo School and Gordon Bell High before attending University of Manitoba where she graduated with a Bachelor of Home Economics in 1946 (Kappa Kappa Gamma). In 1946, she married Dr. Denton Booth and raised their family in The Pas, Bissett, Canmore, and Fisher Branch before settling down on Kingston Row in St. Vital. They had a full life, socializing with friends and doing family activities with their children. Pat was always very active, playing badminton, tennis, golf and skiing with her friends and children. She was consistently involved with Knox United Church as an elder, member of the board of managers, and co-ordinator of the Food Bank. She was a committed volunteer and assisted those in need via the Junior League, Logan Neighborhood House, the United Way, Canadian Cancer Society, and UNICEF. After Dad died in 1997, she married George Bergh in 2000, and greatly enjoyed their life, especially sailing and traveling. Pat is survived by her sister, Shirley (Mike) Keegan of St. Paul, and brother Roderick (Virginia) MacCharles of Minneapolis. Her legacy is her children: Denny (Leslie) Booth, Donald (Kristen) Booth, Marilyn McIvor, and Pamela (Gary) Davis. Her pride and joy were her nine grandchildren, Michael, Donny, David, and Jamie Booth, Alana Holmquist, Ashleigh and Lindsay McIvor, and Joren and Tessa Davis. A celebration memorial of Pat's life will be held at Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton Street, Winnipeg on Monday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception at the church. Special thanks to Mum's exceptional caregivers, Erna and Angelina, and Drs. Maureen and Susan Collison.
