DAVIS (DAVE) McINTOSH After a courageous battle with cancer Dad passed away at home, August 26, 2008 at age 89. Dave was predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Kae) in 2004 and his sister Roberta Davidson in 2007. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Arlene and son-in-law William (Bill) Gray, grandson Jeff and wife Darlene, great-grandsons Dylan and Brendan, grandson Gary and Tiffany, great-grandson Sheldon, brother William (Bill) McIntosh and Marie, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Peter and Eileen Crowley, sister-in-law Ruth Beckman, brother-in-law Fred Davidson, brother-in-law Quint Lawson and good friend Martin Svenningsen. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg, employed at the C.N.R. for 50 years and retired in 1975 as Foreman of the Blacksmith Shop in Transcona. He served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1941 to 1945. In 1942 he met and married Kae and in 2004 they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. After Mom and Dad retired in 1975 they spent 28 happy winters in Clearwater, Florida. During many Spring Breaks, with their grandsons Jeff and Gary, they toured Disney World, collected shells on Clearwater Beach, went swimming and played tennis. Dad bowled with the C.N.R. 10 Pin League and enjoyed regular Saturday morning golf with his friends. A family service was held Friday, August 29 at Chapel Lawn. Thank you to Dr. Fletcher, Dr. Seftel and staff at Cancer Care, the Homecare workers and Palliative Care nurses who were able to keep Dad at home this past month.
