WAYNE GORDON IRVINE (published on August 31, 2008)

WAYNE GORDON IRVINE January 9, 1942 August 28, 2008 Wayne Irvine passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Boundary Trails Health Center in Morden, MB following a heart attack. He is survived by his wife Kim; four sons: Brad (Val), Stuart (Chrissy), Alex and William; two step-sons, Michael and Colin; one grandchild Mannex; three brothers, Tom (Bonne), Allan (Val) and Ken (Karen); one sister Shirley (Rick Rempel); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Bill and Verna Irvine. Wayne was born in Winnipeg, MB and raised in Morris, MB. He attended Broadview, Morris, graduating from St. Jean Baptiste high school. Following graduation he pursued a drafting diploma at Red River College. Wayne's first employment was with Manitoba Hydro. In 1967 Wayne returned to the family farm following his father's death, and also bought farmland East of Rosenfeld MB where Brad and Stuart were raised. Wayne had a number of career pursuits including, owning North Lander Leisure Center in Altona, MB and starting his own accounting business, Wayne Irvine Tax Service. Wayne was a man of few words, he had many accomplishments and talents. Wayne was a member of the Elk Club and President of Morris Stampede. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was actively involved with his son's interests in motocross and hockey. Wayne will miss everyone especially his little boys Alex and William. At his request, cremation has taken place. The family invites relatives and close personal friends to a memorial service to be held at Morden Recreational Center in Morden, MB on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. A private family scattering of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wayne's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and a Trust fund will be set up with The Credit Union, Morden. The family would like to express their thanks to the caregivers at Boundary Trail Health Center.
