DOREEN FLORENCE THORDARSON Peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2008, Doreen, beloved widow of David Thordarson, passed away at the Health Sciences Center at the age of 80. Remaining to forever cherish Doreen's memory are her four children, Jon (Janice), Signy, Erik and Karl (Simone); her five grandchildren, Kryn, Karl (Dana), Elin, Lara and Erik; sisters-in-law, Shirley McCreedy (Russell) and Margaret Hunter of Saskatoon; cousin Beverly, Laura and Florence; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Doreen will also be missed by our dogs, Phoebe, Dart and Nigel. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 54 years, David; sisters Marie and Margaret and brother Douglas. Doreen was born on December 29, 1927, the third child born to Charles and Sadie Regelous. Known as Reg to her many friends, she grew up on Beverley Street in the city's west-end where she attended Greenway, General Wolfe and Daniel MacIntyre Schools. She worked at Great West Life Assurance Company before her marriage in 1949 and again in latter life, retiring in 1993. In compliance with Doreen's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
