OLGA DANILOW (published on August 31, 2008)

OLGA DANILOW 1912 - 2008 As was her prayer, Baba died peacefully at home, her daughter beside her. Born in Chlupin, Belarus, Olga was predeceased by parents Emilie (Ponte) and Friedrich Toderke, and all six of her siblings; by infant twin daughters Amalie and Emilie, two husbands Gregory Dranez and Gregory Danilow, son Karl Dranez, son-in-law Karl Litschke and grandson-in-law Nate MacIntosh. Olga leaves to miss her deeply, daughter Tamara Litschke, son Frank (Emma) Dranez and daughter-in-law Erika Dranez; grandchildren: Edward (Bette) Dranez, Herman (Susan) Dranez, and Robert Dranez, Karin (Dale) Aarhus, Monika Dranez, Annemarie MacIntosh, William (Bernice Kenny) Litschke, David (Cindy) and Susanne Dranez, Doris (John) Furtado; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Shane, Derek, Desiree, Justin and Chase Dranez, Jennifer and Jessica Aarhus, Brittny (Kalan) Hilbrecht, Sabrina and Jasmine Poiron, Andrew (fiancé Kana Aida) and Laura MacIntosh, Gregory Litschke, Johnathan, Christopher and James Furtado; great-great-grandchild Alexia Dranez; recently emigrated from Belarus great-nephew Michael Dranez, numerous nieces, nephews their families, and an abundance of friends in Canada, the US and Europe. A devout and hard-working person, faith and family were paramount to Olga who arrived in Germany as a refugee from the former USSR in 1943, eventually settling in Munich, then immigrating to Winnipeg in 1981. Prayers and viewing at Friends Funeral Service, Monday, September 1, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service at St. John's Lutheran Church, 370 McKenzie St., Tuesday, September 2, 11:00 a.m. Rev. Carol Janke officiating; interment follows at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John's Memorial Fund, the ELCIC's Global Hunger Development Fund, or a charity of your choice.
