JOSEPH TATARYN (published on September 03, 2008)



JOSEPH TATARYN February 20, 1926 August 30, 2008 Peacefully, with family by his side at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Joseph passed away at the age of 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary; his sister Nellie; and his brothers, Mike (Catherine), Walter (Louise), Melvin and sister in- law Lillian. He leaves to mourn his brothers Edward and Bernard (Hazel) along with numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. Joseph was born at Selkirk General Hospital and moved from Selkirk to the family farm when he was 6 months old. As he got older, he chose to make this his life's work where he and his younger brother Eddie worked side by side until his sudden passing. After harvests, Joey particularly enjoyed road trips with his buddies Pete and John. He enjoyed family crib night with his brothers as well as fly-in fishing trips with his friends in his younger years. Many heartfelt thanks to Selkirk Ambulance, emergency staff at the Selkirk General Hospital as well as at Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care and support in making Joey's last hours as comfortable as possible. Funeral Mass will be held in Selkirk, MB. at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church at 269 Jemima Street (behind Co-op gas bar) on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Father Dado Parrenas officiating. Interment will follow at the Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
