JOHN (JACK) COLIN DALY With great sadness, the family announces the passing of John (Jack) Colin Daly on September 1, 2008 at the age of 82. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna; by his parents, Patrick and Louise; by his brothers, Thomas, James, Donald and Robert Carey; and by his sister, Patricia Persoage. Surviving Jack are his brothers, Cyril (Phyllis), Edward, William, Gerald and sister Mary Bell (John), as well as dear friends and neighbours too numerous to mention. Born in Winnipeg, Jack served his country as a prison camp guard during the Second World War, stationed in Lethbridge and Suffield, Alberta. He was a devoted member of the Hudson's Bay Choir, serving for 10 years as Choir Manager. Jack was a loving and devoted husband. He and Donna enjoyed a special partnership that endured until her passing in 1998. Together, they enjoyed socializing with family and friends, golfing and working in their garden. They were well known for their dedication to their many dogs over the years, as well as their support of the Winnipeg Humane Society. Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West. Celebration of Life will follow on Friday, September 5 at 10:30 a.m., also in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel.
