GEORGINA (GINA) BUDDY (published on September 13, 2008)
GEORGINA (GINA) BUDDY (nee SPEARMAN) Peacefully, on Thursday, September 4, 2008, Georgina Annetta Buddy passed away at her home at the age of 75 years. Gina will be remembered and greatly missed by her only son Richmond of Winnipeg; grandson, Kyle Richmond of Winnipeg; and sisters Lauretta of Winnipeg and Gwen of Holly Lake, Texas. Mom was raised in Hamiota, Manitoba, but moved to Winnipeg in her teens. She studied piano for many years, and won every competition she entered in Hamiota, singing and playing her heart out. She also had a passion to own, train and ride her own quarter horse, Sarda, which she did expertly for several years. Mom even got involved in the sport of fencing, and was impressive to watch. She was a people person, an excellent typist, 105 wpm accurate, and she spoke eloquently. Mom worked for the federal government in immigration security and enjoyed many good years there. She was also Lloyd Axworthy's special aid at his Ministerial office in Winnipeg. She loved her job working with Lloyd, Thank You Mr. Axworthy. Mom loved the sunshine, and enjoyed it while travelling in Europe, Florida, and BC as well as at the beachhouse in Hillside Beach. In compliance with Gina's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family service has taken place. A special thanks to Margaret at her apartment block for all the help you gave Mom. |
