TOMMASO FODERARO (published on September 13, 2008)

TOMMASO FODERARO It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Nono, Brother and Uncle, Tommaso Foderaro. Peacefully on September 9, 2008, with his family by his side Tommaso was called to take his rightful place in God's Garden. He leaves to mourn his Amore of 58 years Angela, his children, Antonio, Domenico (Sandra), and Caterina, (Matthew) Stathers, Grandchildren, Tommy, Angie, Angela, and Matteo, Brothers Antonio (Elena), Domenico (Angela) from Toronto, Battista (Bianca) from Italy, Francesco (Caterina) and many nieces and nephews. Dad was born December 22, 1928 in Cortale, Catanzaro, Italy. He moved to Canada in 1962 seeking a better life for his wife Angela and two sons Antonio and Domenico. After working various jobs he sought employment at East West Packers where he found his calling. As a hardworking and ambitious man he created Foderaro Wholesale Meats in 1968. With his son Domenico by his side they successfully ran this business for 25 years. As a visionary he saw the opportunity to buy land on Corydon. Today this is the home of Bar Italia. In 1973, at the age of 44, he was blessed with a daughter Caterina. Family and friends were very important to him. Some of the happiest moments of his life were spent hunting or playing cards with his friends, feeding the geese, traveling with his family and having BBQs at Birds Hill Park. He will always be remembered and have a special place in our hearts. Prayers will be held Monday, September 15, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish 510 River Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish. Entombment will follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the 4th Floor Staff at the Victoria Hospital for their compassion and the care they showed.
