| KARL RUDOLPH FOLTAN After a lengthy battle with cancer Karl passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 85 years. Karl will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary; and nephews Helmut, Herbert and Richard Urban. Born in Velke Pole, Czechoslovakia, Karl came to Canada in 1951. He worked as a carpenter for a few years. Then in 1960 he started working for the Municipality of Fort Garry and later with the City of Winnipeg from where he took an early retirement. Karl enjoyed playing the accordion at family gatherings and he also liked to travel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. with Rev. Fr. Patrick Morand presiding. Interment will follow in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, 826 Crescent Drive. A special thank you is extended to all the home care people who looked after Karl over the last few years. In lieu of flowers donation in Karl's memory may be made to the Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7. |
