HAROLD BISCHOFF (published on September 20, 2008)

HAROLD BISCHOFF It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harold Bischoff, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the age of 75 years. Remaining to forever cherish Harold's memory are his wife of 52 years of marriage, Helen; his children, Randy and Karen (Grant); grandchildren Jason and Alanna (Cody); and especially his great-grandson and best buddy Aiden. He also leaves to mourn his passing his brothers Wilf (Elfi), Allan (Dolores) and Cliff (Lesley); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families; son-in-law Nick; good friend Dan (Olive); and many more relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Augusta Bischoff and sister Wilma Taylor; and his sister-in-law Nellie. Harold started his journey in life in the construction business. He married Helen in 1956 and raised his family. Harold eventually left construction to become a house and building inspector for the City of Winnipeg. He was a very smart and talented man who could do anything he set his mind to. Harold was a talented carpenter, auto mechanic and baker. He enjoyed many years of bowling and golfing. When his grandchildren were born he took great interest in spending lots of time with them as they grew up and even as adults. But, his latest and most loved accomplishment was looking after his great-grandson and best buddy Aiden while his mother worked. They had a very special bond Grampy and his little schmookie. Harold was also an active member of St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church. Harold's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church, 2903 McPhillips Street, with Pastor Lynne Hutchison, presider. A private family interment will be held in the Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harold's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K0 or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. We will love you dearly forever.
