PAULINE PRYSTAE (published on September 20, 2008)

PAULINE PRYSTAE It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, while surrounded by her family, Pauline passed away in her 98th year on September 14, 2008 at the Betel Home in Gimli, Manitoba. Remaining to cherish Pauline's memory are her daughter Mary and sons Harold and Mike and their families. Pauline will also be remembered by her 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Joseph. Pauline was born on May 10, 1910 in Stenen, Saskatchewan to Wasyl and Lena Chorney. Pauline was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers and leaves one sister, Katie Werbowski. After many years on the family farm, Pauline married Joseph Prystae and moved to Winnipeg. She worked at Deer Lodge Veterans Hospital until her retirement. One of Pauline's greatest joys was to go downtown to The Bay and shop and have coffee with her friends from work. Her grandchildren have fond memories of lunches at the Paddlewheel with Granny. Pauline came to the Betel Home in Gimli in 1998 and quickly became part of the Betel family. She made many friends among the residents and staff where she was known for her resiliency and ability to bounce back from medical setbacks. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel in the Gimli Betel Home. The family wishes to thank and express their tremendous gratitude to the staff of the Betel Home for the outstanding care that Pauline received. The staff is second-to-none in terms of the love and care that they show all residents at Betel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pauline's memory to the Betel Home Foundation, Box 10, Gimli, MB ROC 1BO. Mom, Baba, Granny - We Will Miss You.
