LEONARD CARL (LEN) RANDALL (published on September 23, 2008)

LEONARD CARL (LEN) RANDALL Leonard Carl (Len) Randall passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, September 19, 2008. Len was born at home in the Burdette district in the Rural Municipality of Birtle on February 11, 1922, the youngest child of Ed and Ethel Randall. On November 5, 1943, Len married Christina (Ina) I. Johnston. They had two sons, William (Bill) and Murray. Len and Ina farmed in the Burdette district until 1968, when they moved to Brandon. Len and Ina enjoyed more than 30 years of fun and relaxation at Clear Lake with family and friends during the summer months. Len revelled in the company of others and always made family and friends feel comfortable and at home when visiting the Randall home. He knew how to have fun - be it a game of cards, a walk down the street or playing some funny prank. He was intensely interested in others, especially those who were near and dear to him and Ina, and concerned about the littlest details of their lives and all of their families. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Bill and Murray (Thelma); sister Leah Dunn and family; sister-in-law Marg and Walter Butcher and family, sister-in-law Mabel Johnston and family. Len was predeceased by his father and mother, Ed and Ethel Randall; sisters and brothers, Frank (Ann), Randall, Wes (Jean) Randall, Eric (Jean) Randall, Leona (Bill) Johnson, Joanna (Francis) Bailey; brothers-in-law, Hugh Dunn, Pat (Bertha) Johnson, Andy Johnson and Doug (Marg) Johnson. The ceremony to celebrate Len's life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Mona Franklin will officiate. A graveside service will be held at the Birtle Cemetery, Birtle, that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Len to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0V9. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff of the Brandon Regional Health Centre, and Assiniboine Centre, Palliative Care Unit, especially Dr. Edwards, attending physician. They would also like to thank extended family members for their visits to Dad in his last days and weeks. They will never know how much they lifted Dad's spirits in that last and most difficult time. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel Pre-Planning Centre (204) 727-0330
