OLIVE MARIE CALDWELL (published on September 23, 2008)

OLIVE MARIE CALDWELL (nee LECUYER) It is with deep regret that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Olive Marie Caldwell on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 80 years. Remaining to forever cherish Olive's memory are her daughter, Sandra McLeod; sons, Brian (Carol), Ron (Marie); son-in-law, Ron Warrenchuk; niece, Marlene; grandchildren, Richard, Tammie, Ryan, Shaun, Renée, Colin, Krystal, Amber, Corie; sister, Irene Ducharme as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Warrenchuk; parents Joseph and Renée Lecuyer; brothers, Albert, Aimé, Ludovic, Gerard, Henry and sister Eva. Born in Poplar Point Manitoba, Mom was raised in St. Eustache, MB. She moved to Winnipeg at a young age where she worked at various jobs, including Eaton's. She eventually found her niche and had a very satisfying career in long-term care. Mom married Dad (Ross) New Years Eve 1948, and they settled in the St. James area, where together, they raised four children. Mom was a homebody, and a loyal fan of Y and R. She always kept abreast of world news that included politics, sports, and current events. She loved spending time with family and having coffee with her buddies. On Wednesday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. Olive's funeral service will be held in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (Corner of Mount Royal Rd. and Ness Ave.). For those who wish, additional parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. Interment will follow in the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Olive's memory may be given to the charity of your choice. Angel of god, my guardian dear To whom God's love commits me here Ever this day be at my side To light and guard, to rule and guide.
