JAMES HENRY BROWN (published on September 23, 2008)

JAMES HENRY BROWN July 20, 1946 - September 20, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend James Henry Brown on September 20, 2008. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years Andrea. His children Donald (Leah), Pam (Wade) and David (Michelle). His five grandchildren Justin, Nicholas, Emily, Cassie and Eric. His brothers and sisters Lynda (Bob), Garry (Doreen), Harvey (Gloria), Marvin (Mildred), Frances (Ed), Jack (Cherryl), Darlene (Dwight), Brenda (Leonard), Louise (Ken), Debbie (Jim) and Cindy (Joe). Along with his mother-in-law Elsie Goetz, sister-in-law Marilyn (Renny) Derkacz, brother-in-law Greg (Iris) Goetz and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother and father Henry and Rose Brown. Jim was employed for 29 years at CN rail and retired in June 2001. He made many friends throughout his life, both at work and after retirement. Jim will be remembered for his great sense of humour. He always had a good joke that made everyone around him laugh. A laugh could be had at his best friend Garry's place playing cards and swimming. He enjoyed curling with the P H group on Sunday mornings and with his mixed league on Thursday evenings. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time with his friends and family. Dad was always there when we needed him. His grandkids will tell you he always had a supply of junk food for them. He loved chocolate and dessert. This is something that has been passed on throughout the generations. Nicholas always whispered in his ear Where's the junk? As per dad's request no funeral service will be held. However, dad enjoyed his food therefore, a lunch will be held at Dugald Community Club on Thursday, September 25 at 12:00. We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital on the 5th floor for their compassionate care. Special thanks to dad's nurse, Mindy Tennant for her exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, if friends wish donations can be made to the Children's Asthma Foundation. To sign the book of condolence go to We will miss you.
