CHARLES ALEXANDER KAIN (published on September 27, 2008)

CHARLES ALEXANDER KAIN Passed away after a long and meaningful life on September 26, 2008 in his 88th year. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Winnifred of 49 years. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by Karen and her husband Ross Petty, Susan and her husband Ellis Andrews, Sandy and her husband Soren Larsen and Kevin and his wife Cathy (nee: Davies) and his grandsons Dylan and Taylor. Born in Winnipeg August 3, 1921, he spent five years in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and his final years at the Veterans facility at Sunnybrook Hospital. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at L Wing and the wonderful caregivers from Selectacare. Charlie was educated as a professional engineer at University of Manitoba and rose to the position of Vice President of Westinghouse Canada. Charlie will be remembered for his long involvement in the Rotary Club, Big Brothers, YMCA and the Erindale United Church. Charlie loved travelling, sailing, wood working and decoy carving which he continued as long as he was able. A private family graveside service will take place on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens. He was a longtime supporter of The National Ballet of Canada and the World Wildlife Fund and in lieu of flowers donations to either organization would be greatly appreciated. morleybedford.ca/condolences
