MANSEL OZANALP It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mansel Ozanalp, beloved husband, father and grandfather on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the age of 63 years. His death occurred at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba with his family by his side. Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, he had been a resident of Winnipeg since 1973. Remaining to forever cherish Mansel's memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Gonce, his son Cihan Ozanalp, his daughter Dilara Ozanalp, his son-in-law Edward Ayoub and his joy and love grandson Edward the IV; his sister Nilgun (Vassaf) Kuzeyman and their son Onur; his brother Ersun Ozanalp; his cousins, Aytac (Hikmet), Bilgin (Aytan) and Tanseli (Eli), Dilek, Gul, Semih; his sister-in-law Inci Nayman and nephew Gursel, his mother-in-law Gul Karlidag, brother-in-law Ahmet (Feza) Enunlu and their daughter Ece. He was predeceased by his parents Handan and Cevad Ozanalp; his brother Yuksel Nayman, his nephew Hikmet Nayman and his sister-in-law Nurcan Ozanalp. Mansel spent his last summer driving back and forth to the hardware store to achieve his big project, to build an insulated workshop in the garage for the coming winter. He made backyard furniture, birdhouses and feeders for friends, neighbours and his family while listening to 1960s music and sipping a glass of wine in his favourite corner, Buyuk Ada (Great Island) after a long day of sweat and satisfaction. We shall never forget Mansel's jokes and stories, his helping hands, generosity and zest for life towards his friends and his family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Gabriel and Noella Muruve; Con Wall and Dr. I. J. Kowalchuk, for their compassion and support as well as others who have shown their concern and sympathy. They would also like to thank the staff of G-A5 of the Health Sciences Centre for their wonderful care of Mansel, it will not be forgotten. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mansel's memory to the Children's Hospital at the Health Sciences Centre.
