SHELAGH PATRICIA SAWCHUK (published on October 04, 2008)

SHELAGH PATRICIA SAWCHUK (nee BEAVER) February 4, 1927 - September 25, 2008 It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and friend at home peacefully in her sleep, with her daughters Erin and Glenis by her side. Shelagh was predeceased by her husband Frederick, daughter Pamela, sister Dorothy, brother Peter, mother Nancy, and father Paddy. Shelagh lived in Winnipeg where she was employed with the Health Sciences Centre in the admitting department of 20 years until she retired. In her retirement years she enjoyed volunteering for numerous charities including the Winnipeg Humane Society, Health Sciences gift shop. She loved the outdoors and her daily walks at Birds Hill Park with her daughter Erin. She also loved to bake, sew, read, knit and watching British comedies. She also enjoyed a good red wine with her supper. She was very involved with her children and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her children Erin (Don), Glenis (Rob), Warren (Darlene), Dave (Val), and her grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as Mungee, Ryan, Samantha, Cassandra, Bryce, Megan, Naomi and Tyler. With our deepest heartfelt thanks to our sister Erin and her family for the special care that they provided our Mom in her last weeks with us. Erin and her family moved our Mom into their home so that she could spend her last days in comfort at home with family. Erin did what none of us could do. We want to thank her and her family with all our hearts, for giving our mom the unconditional love, care and support in her final days with us. Erin you are an angel. According to our mother's wishes a private family service was held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 where her children laid her to rest. Forever loved and never forgotten, may you now rest in peace Mom.
