ADRIEN (PETE) RODIER (published on October 04, 2008)

ADRIEN (PETE) RODIER April 9, 1926 - October 2, 2008 In Loving memory After a long battle with dementia, Pete peacefully passed away on October 2 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 82. Originally from Camperville Manitoba, Pete studied at College St. Boniface. In 1939 he volunteered in the Canadian Armed forces until the end of the war. In 1950 he met and married Marie. They moved to Brandon and made a home and raised their son Charles. In the early 1970's, Pete left the construction industry and purchased a store in Camperville where he met Nellie Bourgoise. They remained there until his business was destroyed by fire. Pete and Nellie came to Winnipeg, where their children and families reside. Eventually both were hospitalized and placed in Personal Care homes. Nellie predeceased Pete in 2004. Pete resided at Central Park Lodge on Edmonton Street for the past four years. Both families wish to thank the staff there for his wonderful care. It was reassuring for us to know he was with such caring people. Pete was predeceased by his grandson Alex Rodier and half sister Jean. Left to mourn his passing are Chuck and Cathy and family, Nellie's children Gary, Mary Lou, Raynard, Audrey, Anita, Fred, Ellie May, Patrick and Corrine and their families as well as his twin sister Adrienne and son Tom, sister Fernande and family, half sister Florence and family, half sister Anne and family, and brother in law George and family Prayers will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Bernadette Parish on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Transcona Cemetery. Reception to follow at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave West. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Pete's name to the Alex Rodier Scholarship fund through CPET High School in Transcona.
