DORIS SYBIL ROBSON (published on October 06, 2008)

DORIS SYBIL ROBSON It is with sadness, but thankfulness, that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, who went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2008. Doris Patterson was born in Mount Forest, Ontario on September 27, 1911. She was raised in Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg as a young woman in 1934. In 1939, she was married to Leslie Thomas Robson who predeceased her at a young age. As a widowed mother, she worked selflessly to provide her children with a loving and nurturing home. She retired from the Eaton's department store in 1976 after many years of loyal service. She was a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, and a member of Zion Apostolic Church, and subsequently Calvary Temple in Winnipeg. Doris will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to her loving family and friends, her warm hospitality and excellent cooking, her wonderful sense of humor, and her strong personal convictions. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Christopher and Margaret Clare Patterson, two brothers Jack and Alvin and two sisters Mildred Schackell and Gladys Tucker and a son-in-law Bruce Boyd. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son Gary (Dorothy) of Calgary and daughter, Elaine Boyd of Selkirk, and by her five grandchildren, Tim (Liv), and Craig Robson, Renata Nelson (David) , Jason (Kelly) Boyd, Todd (Jodie) Boyd, and seven great-grandchildren, Ty, Emily and Eric Boyd, Oliver and Simon Robson and Jacob and Noah Nelson. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their tender loving care of Doris in her final years. Interment will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, with a Memorial Service to follow and 1:00 pm at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements,
