JUDY GARSIDE (published on October 25, 2008)

JUDY GARSIDE (nee LEGGO) 1930-2008 Peacefully on October 23, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital Judy Garside passed away at the age of 78. Judy was predeceased by her husband Garth in 2003. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Helen Leggo, her five children, Linda (Ray) Fontaine, Janet (Danny) Kay of Hamilton, Susan (Rick) Willms of Edmonton, Jim (Lori Butler) and Debbie (Lindsay) Nikkel. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Ken, Nicki, Melissa, Jaylyn, Jaime, Lauren, Joel, Kyla, Shawna, Jessica, Caitlyn and great-grandson Marqiess. Judy was a proud Fort Garry resident, living her whole life here. She was very active in her community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels for over 25 years, canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Society and Canadian Cancer Society yearly. She took great pride serving with her many friends at the St. Pauls Church Women’s Group (ACW) and always found time to be a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Paul’s Anglican Church with Rev. Geoff Woodcroft officiating.
