GERTRUDE (TRUDY) HARRISON (published on January 10, 2009)

GERTRUDE (TRUDY) HARRISON Peacefully, on January 4, 2009 at the Tudor House in Selkirk, Manitoba, Trudy Harrison aged 91 years, formerly of Niverville, Manitoba passed away. Trudy was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Laurence (Bob) Harrison; sisters Vivian Nicholl and Blanche Stewart; brother Fred Soucy as well as her parents. She is survived by her only daughter, Winnie Kohler; granddaughters Rose (Murray) Dick and Alice (Jim) Windebank; her two great-grandsons, James and Shaun Dick. Trudy also leaves behind a sister Beverley (Ed) Bradley of Manor, SK; brother-in-law Cliff (Lillian) Stewart of Calgary, AB and numerous nieces and nephews. Trudy spent all her married life in Niverville, MB and was actively involved in the United Church as a member of the United Church Women, treasurer of the Sunday school program and caretaker for over 25 years. Her passions were always the kids whether it was through church or countless days and nights babysitting throughout her years. Trudy enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting until her sight failed her in her later years. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Tudor House for their care and kindness during Trudy's stay. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk, MB with family interment to take place at a later date.
